Labour Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is celebrated on May 1st every year.

The holiday dates back to the 19th century and originated in the United States in the labor union movement.

It is a national public holiday in many countries and is often accompanied by parades, fireworks, and speeches.

Traditionally, the day was a commemoration of the Haymarket affair in Chicago in 1886 where workers were protesting for an eight-hour workday.

Since then, the holiday has evolved into a celebration of the labor and workers’ rights movements worldwide.
