Water and Sanitation Day – March 22

Access to clean water and adequate sanitation is fundamental to human health, dignity, and sustainable development. Yet, billions of people worldwide still lack these essential services. To address this urgent global issue, the United Nations has designated March 22 as Water and Sanitation Day—a day to raise awareness about the global water crisis and advocate for universal access to safe water and sanitation.

This year’s theme, “Valuing Water”, underscores the vital role water plays in our daily lives and highlights the urgent need to protect and manage this precious resource responsibly.
