The International Day for Biological Diversity is a United Nations-sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity problems. It is presently hung on May 22. In 1989, just twelve months after scientist Norman Myers wrote the paper that introduced the hotspots concept, Conservation International adopted the idea of protecting those unique locations as the guiding principle of our investments.
