25-June Day of the Seafarer:
25 June of every year is the “Day of the Seafarer”, recognizing the priceless contribution seafarers make to international trade and the world economy, often at fantastic personal cost to themselves and their families.
Governments, shipping corporations, corporations, shipowners and all other events involved are invited to promote and rejoice the Day in the perfect and meaningful way.
Frist Celebration Of The Day:
The Day of the Seafarer was first celebrated in 2011, following its established order through a decision adopted by using the Conference of Parties to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, held in Manila, Philippines, in June 2010, which followed main revisions to the STCW Convention and Code.
The Day of the Seafarer has now been included inside the annual listing of United Nations Observances.
