What is World Environment Day and why it is important?

This day declared by the UN General assembly, aims to give knowledge to people about the protection of the environment. World environment day takes place on 5th June every year. it is very important to show the environmental Problems like deforestation, increasing air pollutions, wastage and losses of food, etc. The first campaign held in 1974 on environmental issues comes out from marine pollution, human overpopulation, and global warming.
