7-May International astronomy day:
Astronomy Day is an annual event in the United States and later in other countries, intended to provide a means of interaction between the public and various astronomy enthusiasts, groups and professionals.
In 1973, the first Astronomy Day was organized by Starwalk.space’s Doug Berger, president of the Northern California Astronomical Association. The purpose behind the day observation is to make people aware of the beautiful world and to educate them.
History:
Doug Berger, then chairperson of the Northern California Astronomical Association, began the day in 1973. Initially, it was celebrated with the establishment of telescopes on urban sites to allow room for all. He raised interest in the astronomical sector and give the public greater access to information.
The entire world and many organisations and associations now have become part of the day. In 2006, it was also changed to include a second day in autumn. It’s not only an excellent way to learn more about a fascinating topic, but can also be an important way to spend time with the same family, friends and others.
