What’s the difference between a sea and an ocean?
Geographically, the seas are smaller than Oceans and are usually located where the land and ocean meet. Usually, seas are partially enclosed by land.
Due to global pollution and emission of carbon dioxide, one-third of the total anthropogenic emission is being absorbed by the ocean, contributing to a rise in ocean acidification. In the last 200 years ocean has become 30% more acidic. Reference
Without the ocean, we will lose 97% of the water on earth, and the rest of the water will not be able to sustain the water cycle on our only planet. More increase in ocean acidification will affect the food industry, coastal protection, tourism, and carbon storage, and climate regulations. If you are interested in more details go to this link.
